It's been 18 years since the September 11th attacks that took the lives of nearly 3,000 people in the worst act of terrorism our nation has ever experienced. Of those 2,977, 343 were New York City firefighters, 23 were New York City police officers and 37 were officers at the Port Authority who selflessly ran into danger trying to save as many lives as they possibly could. We will never forget all who were lost and we will continue to honor the legacy of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty that day.
