The Shelby County Sheriff's Office Pipes & Drums is the only law enforcement pipe band in the state of Tennessee and is comprised of both department personnel and civilian volunteers.

Founded in  2014, our mission is simple, honoring our fallen. We have been privileged to participate in honor ceremonies for our own fallen heroes as well as Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and other Public Safety personnel throughout the Mid-South. We are Memphis' Pipe Band.

Our band operates under the command of the Ceremonial Guard of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office; a full service law enforcement agency serving Shelby County, TN.

The mission of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office is to engage the citizens of Memphis and Shelby County in a manner that keeps them informed about crimes happening in their areas of town. We also seek to elicit help from the public on identifying suspects as well as locating wanted fugitives.

Each year the band participates in a number of events on behalf of the Public Safety Services. These events include recruit graduation ceremonies, awards and promotion ceremonies and community events, however none are more important than our participation in the Tennessee State and local public safety memorials . These kinds of events pay tribute to public safety professionals who have given their lives in service to others.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office Pipes and Drums currently has 30+ members who come from all walks of life and bring an indeterminate amount of experience with them.  Our members are police officers, firefighters, engineers, students, doctors to name but a few and all are tremendous individuals who share the common goal of being a successful and competitive pipe band. The band continues to exist thanks to the ongoing support of the public safety professionals throughout the Mid-South; we are proud of our long history with them.

Partnerships are formed between a number of individuals, agencies or organizations with a shared interest. There is usually an overarching purpose to work together on a range of specific objectives.  We are proud of all of our partnerships established over the years who support our mission to honor our fallen comrades and promote cultural heritage and enrich our community by providing traditional Bagpipe and Drum music.

While our supporters do include all of our family, friends and co-workers — we would like to point out just a few organizations who continue to support our aims and objectives.
